Just because summer is coming to an end doesn’t mean the fun has to stop! September offers plenty of entertainment for all ages. Many of these New Smyrna Beach events are great for a family outing, date night, or even just an enjoyable time out with friends.
There are so many events and things to do that you’ll be able to keep the fun going no matter what time of year you come to visit us.
To make it easier for you to decide what to check out, we’ve put together a list of the things going on in the area throughout the month of September.
The First Saturday Art Stroll, Saturday, September 1
The First Saturday Gallery Art Stroll is a fantastic way to kick off the beginning of September. Happening on the first Saturday of every month, this event gives you the option to explore all the art that is available in the area.
This event lasts from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and you’ll be able to find music, paintings, sculptures and more. The stroll is totally free and is one of the more rewarding family-friendly events for the season.
There are even live local musicians playing in Christmas Park from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for your enjoyment. All of this is taking place right on Douglas and Canal Street.
Following the Art Stroll there will be a Craft Beer Walk going on from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., also taking place on Canal Street. For $20 you’ll get a souvenir glass, a dozen tickets to sample craft beers, and a map of the spots to hit up.
Another fantastic family-friendly event happening on Saturdays throughout September is the New Smyrna Beach Farmer’s Market. From 8 a.m. to noon you’ll find tons of delicious options at this seaside market.
Everything from fresh fruits and veggies to plants, coffee, and organic bread can be found here. It’s a delicious way to get a taste of the area.
Classic Cars on Canal Street, Saturday, September 8
On the second Saturday of every month rev up those engines and head to the Canal Street Cruise Inn. Here you’ll find classic cars lined up all day on Canal Street. There’s food and drinks, as well as live music proving for some exciting and unique entertainment to enjoy in the area. The show lasts from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and you’re sure to see awesome cars from all years.
New Smyrna Beach Jazz Festival, September 20-23
You’ll want to keep these dates in mind when you’re thinking about booking your vacation. The Jazz Festival is one family-friendly festival that you won’t want to miss.
This three-day music festival is considered one of the best in Central Florida. You’ll experience delightful jazz music, yummy food, and a day full of fun you won’t soon forget.
The best part—it’s free to come and listen to the music. The whole thing happens on Flagler Avenue, Third Avenue, Canal Street, Atlantic Avenue, and the North Causeway.
Wine Walk on Flagler Ave, Saturday, September 29
Another fun and unique way to explore the area is with the Flagler Avenue Wine Walk. Happening from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. you will have the chance to taste more than 100 wines being showcased.
Wine tasting passports cost $25 and can be purchased all along Flagler Avenue leading up to the event. You’ll get 20 tasting tickets to wind your way through the selections along the way.
